Technical Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Technical Engineering Manager to join our company in one of our projects, in Lisbon.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a very flexible full-time engineering manager with a solid technology background and ability to still develop code and participate in all technology activities.

• Discussing new product features with product and project management teams (or even
customers)
• Manage the work of other developers
• Defining the implementation plan and contributing to architectural decisions
• Ability to still contribute to the code implementing features in both our Ruby on Rails backend
and our Flutter based mobile apps
• Support and fix customer issues
• Document key aspects of the platform and apps
• Work with the QA team to understand defects and to improve the development process
• Managing the production environments end-2-end (deployments, troubleshooting in
production, database scripting, etc.)

Core Skills:
• Excellent knowledge of Software Engineering principles and development best practices
• Good knowledge of Ruby on Rails for full-stack web projects
• Good knowledge of Flutter and mobile development
• Good knowledge of DevOps practices
• Good knowledge of Cloud infrastructure
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes/containerized environments
• Good understanding of security best practices
• Good understanding of SQL databases (namely PostgreSQL)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of building and consuming APIs/Webservices
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills – ability to discuss technical topics with technical or non-
technical audiences.
• Comfortable working both individually and together with others to achieve group goals
• Experience in an Agile development team.
• Experience managing developers
• Experience with AI coding assistants and other AI-tooling
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline."
