We are looking for Senior Data Architect to join our company, in one of our projects, in the construction, mobility and industrial sectors, located in Lisbon.

We are looking for a senior data architecture professional who can establish best practices in Analytics, AI, and Master Data Management use cases, working closely with various stakeholder communities such as business experts, data engineers/developers, data scientists, and technical architects.
The ideal candidate will ensure optimal structuring of data platforms, with a mid- to long-term vision. Business teams should be able to act on data—whether through simple queries or by leveraging advanced data and analytics capabilities—to achieve our data-driven objectives.

Tasks:
- Understand the high-level business processes & data architecture of Saint-Gobain information system across business units: ERPs, CRMs, PIMs, MDMs or other main business applications, and BI/Reporting/AI data platforms. Contribute to enhance the corresponding enterprise data model (main data entities and their semantic relations), working closely with the business data experts, data governance managers and enterprise/solution/technical architects. From this map the existing assets in the Data Platforms (especially the Corporate one) to prioritize their standardization, depending on the Business priorities, to facilitate data consumption.
- Examine and identify database structural necessities, by evaluating present and potential functional needs, to offer self-service capabilities thanks to consistent aggregation / Consolidation, normalization / denormalization, rationalization, and data quality management implementation, working closely with technical architects and data product managers.
- Define how MDM streams should be positioned into the information system landscape across functional domains and business units to enable the business processes with the right data quality.
- Model standardized and reusable datasets to consume them easily (incl. with the Data Marketplace) with trust, for many purposes, working closely with the Business teams, Data Councils or other Data Governance experts and other Data & Analytics team members. Document the key business processes producing & consuming data in BPMN. Manage metadata ensuring sharing information about data coverage and business freshness for each dataset.
- Apply the Group Data Governance framework, especially the Data Architecture policy that defines rules to build standardized and reusable dataset (close to Medallion architecture) and other modeling best practices. Ensure that data risk management policies are well applied: data classification (Confidentiality, Privacy & other compliance topics), access policies, access management and data retention.
- Guide business data experts and IT teams on how and where to implement data quality controls on data structures from the business data quality requirements.
- Assess logical datasets & their implementations to certify their compliance with the Group framework.
- Data Catalog – Advanced level
- Demonstrated experience in managing and organizing enterprise data catalogs to ensure data discoverability and accessibility.
- Functional Data Architecture – Expert level
- Deep understanding of data architecture principles, with the ability to design scalable, efficient, and business-aligned data solutions.
- Snowflake Data Cloud – Advanced level
- Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing data platforms using Snowflake.
- English – Confirmed proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with international teams.
- Business Analysis – Confirmed
- Solid ability to understand business needs, translate them into data requirements, and align technical solutions accordingly.
- Data Governance – Confirmed
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency.
